August Tips
Plant trees, shrubs and vines. Remember to water more often with the hotter temperatures.
Sod planted this month will be established by winter.
Mow lawn every 4 to 5 days
Feed Roses this month to promote fall blooms.
Use a quality slow release fertilizer on your lawn to help keep it lush green.
Use a water-soluble fertilized on your annuals to keep them blooming.
Watch out for bagworms and webworms on your Junipers, Cedars and Italian Cypress type plants. Treat with Neem or BT as soon as possible.
Water hanging baskets and potted plants daily.
Watch for aphids and/or mealy bugs on Crapes Myrtles. Treat with an all-purpose insecticide.
Even though it is hot remember to only water your lawn 1” two times a week.
